Working at Shenley Brook End School provides an exciting opportunity.  You will be encouraged and supported to deliver creative and stimulating lessons to students who expect to be challenged and stretched.  We are a large community of students, staff, parents and governors. As a school community we want everyone to ‘Belong, Believe, Become’. As a school we belong to our local community but also to a wider community of excellent schools that are part of the 5 Dimensions Trust.

The school will give you significant opportunities to help you develop in your career.  We are a teaching school with a dedicated Leadership and Training Centre (LTC) on site which supports our staff to develop outstanding and innovative teaching, helping our students and staff to make fantastic progress. The opportunities that the LTC offers to staff to enhance their career are unique.

We are on an exciting and imaginative journey; creativity has become the heart of the school’s approach resulting in innovative approaches to:

• teaching and learning – encouraging questioning, reflection and challenge
• curriculum design – establishing a common language of learning
• use of data – supporting individual progress
• growing a ‘school of leaders’ – developing leadership at all levels
• school improvement planning – embracing creativity

Our students’ qualities are as important as our qualifications. All students have the opportunity to excel through our innovative curriculum where we teach students through our language of learning ASK (Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge). We want our students to have the attitudes to succeed that employers value, the skills that will allow them to flourish in life alongside the knowledge that will ensure academic distinction. Through our commitment to a holistic education we help students to Believe in themselves and our school.

Our successful school has many successes through our fantastic CEIAG (Careers, Education and Independent Advice and Guidance) team we have achieved 100% of the Gatsby benchmarks; our students are in a very strong position to make informed decisions about their next steps in education.

We have welcoming staffrooms and supportive governors.  Our community has a high regard for the school, not least through our reputation for good student behaviour.

We are a popular school and considerably over-subscribed.  Parents are attracted to the school because of its emphasis on uniform, good behaviour and academic work.  Most students live within walking distance of the school and we have a strong community feel. We are a uniform school and all students are encouraged to wear their uniform with pride.  A high standard of dress is also expected of staff.  The school maintains a firm but fair standard of discipline and believes in the traditional values of courtesy, honesty and respect for others and property.  All students are expected to show good manners and consideration for others at all times, whether in or out of school.  A calm and orderly atmosphere pervades the school and there is a clear emphasis on hard work and achievement.
