Permanent/Part Time (20 hours)

Gardner's Lane and Oakwood Federation Children's Centre nurseries have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Early Years Assistants. This is a permanent part time term time only position. Working hours are 12.15pm - 4.15pm for five days per week.

The minimum qualification requirement is a Level 2 qualification in Early Years. These vacancies are across the Cheltenham Cluster of Children's Centres.

The successful applicants will support the learning, play and development of children aged 2-5 under the EYFS and must be able to:

  • Deliver high quality early years education with a good understanding of the EYFS;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Complete and manage all paperwork for the Learning Journeys for their group of Key Children;
  • Assist in planning - short term targets for individual children and groups, and to observe and record their progress;
  • Work closely with families;
  • Work and liaise with Community Family Workers, Social Care, Health Visitors and education support services, among others;
  • Work as a part of a team;
  • Have a commitment to building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and other professionals.

The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Child Protection/Safeguarding. Applicants will be asked to complete an interview and a short task.

  • Clear Disclosure records from the DBS (formerly CRB).
