Joining us, you will:

  • Further develop an innovative model of educational support for permanently placed children (PP), including adopted and SGO children.
  • Demonstrate how educational outcomes can be effectively enhanced.
  • Increase schools' understanding of issues faced by many PP children.
  • Identify education champions in schools for adopted and SGO placed children.
  • Work in collaboration with PAC's multi-disciplinary team in delivering other services, where appropriate.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A professional qualification in the field of education/educational psychology, and registration with the appropriate body.
  • Professional knowledge of child development, as well as an understanding of the adoption process and needs of adoptive children.
  • Experience delivering training courses to parents and professionals in addition to working with adoption, attachment and trauma issues.

We are an innovative charity based in North London providing advice, counseling, therapy and training for all those affected by adoption and permanency: children/adolescents and their families, adults who were adopted/placed as children, birth family members and professionals. We have played a pioneering role in developing support for black and transracially placed children/adolescents and their families. Our services are available nationally.

In return, we offer 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time) to be taken in school holidays, plus a pension scheme.
