Education Appeals Adviser
London office based £32,012- £37,773 per annum
Home based £27,915 - £33,037 per annum (pro rata)
Birmingham office based £27,915 - £33,037 per annum
35 hours per week. Permanent
As part of NDCS's work in breaking down these barriers, the Education Appeals Team support deaf children and their families in getting the educational support they require. This may be by supporting parents in challenging a statement of special educational needs or looking at the reasonable adjustments a child requires in order to access their education. We are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic person to join this busy team.
Do you have experience of providing advocacy in a tribunal setting and/or using the Equality Act to challenge education provision? Do you have the presentational, interpersonal and organisational skills required to meet the challenge of working in this ever changing area of law? If so we would like to hear from you.
Not only will you be supporting deaf children and their families but you will be working closely with other services within NDCS as well as external professionals in order to help every deaf child succeed.
The post can be home or office based and due to a high volume of our cases being heard in London and the South East, ideally a candidate will be located in this area of the country. However applications from other parts of the country will be considered if the candidate is willing to travel and work unsociable hours.
All candidates, wherever located will also be expected to travel to other parts of the UK either on tribunal or NDCS business if required.
