We are looking for 1.5 individuals who are able to build relationships with young people (16-18) who are often facing barriers to education. We need people who have energy and enthusiasm with a track record of building rapport with young people and gaining trust. The aims of the posts are to work with hesitant learners and to support them into full-time learning opportunities.

The job requires a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own diary whilst being accountable for meeting targets. The work will involve one to one support as well as running short courses that are attractive to young people who may have been disengaged from education for some time.

The work will be based across college sites and may include work out in the community. You will be part of a lively and enthusiastic team, be supported in your work by the Curriculum Leader and have access to College systems to facilitate your work.

About South Bristol Skills Academy (SBSA)

South Bristol Skills Academy is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Bristol serving students from the age of 16 and above.  The college has over 20,000 students each year. It is part of the City of Bristol College. 

South Bristol Skills Academy opened in 2010 and offers over 1,000 courses from entry level to degree standard. The college has facilities including health and social care workshops, a training kitchen and restaurant, animal care facilities, a floristry studio and professional hair and beauty salon for students to train in.
