Job overview

The English Co-ordinator will be expected to teach a variety of courses in English from ELC, GCSE to Functional Skills; also to be involved in training and supporting other staff to teach these courses and the new KS3 curriculum. The English Co-ordinator will lead literacy across the curriculum and be involved in writing and monitoring literacy individual education plans (IEPs). This role also involves organising a variety of intervention packages in reading, writing, speaking and listening to enable students to make progress. This post involves monitoring the teaching and progress of students in English across the school.

We are a good generic special secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an English trained teacher who wants to work with students with special educational needs and disability to improve their English skills and empower them to achieve their maximum potential.
