Eskdale School is an 11-14 comprehensive school located in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby with the stunning North York Moors close by. We pride ourselves on knowing our pupils and being ambitious for their development.

Our English department was acknowledged in our recent OFSTED inspection as a rapidly improving area, we require an enthusiastic teacher to continue developing English and literacy.

We need a dynamic and inspirational teacher with excellent communication skills, who is a committed and forward-looking NQT or experienced teacher and can contribute to the growth of this important subject area.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to accept new ideas and a thorough commitment to student learning. We want staff with the vision and determination to ensure all our students receive a first class education and who will rise to the challenge of building on success.

Eskdale School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Whitby, North Yorkshire. It is a community state school that works closely with Scalby School in Scarborough. A much smaller than average size for a secondary school, the school will provide 438 places for students in between the ages of 11-16 when fully subscribed.

Previously a school for ages 11-14, the school started catering up to the age of 16 in September 2016.

Eskdale understands the importance of these ages for children’s development; each student is valued as an individual and the staff understand the importance of keeping them happy, even as they are challenged.
