An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic English specialist to join a small and happy English department (part-time) with immediate effect. If you are passionate about your subject, have imagination and are full of energy, then we would love to hear from you. The key qualities and skills you will need for this role are:

  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

About Hurst Lodge School

Hurst Lodge is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic all-through school with sixth form situated in Ascot, Berkshire. It is an independent boarding school. The school capacity is 220 children aged 3-18.

Hurst Lodge was founded in 1942 in London as a dance school by Doris Stainer, before moving to Sunningdale. It moved to its current site in Ascot in 1999.

Values and vision

Hurst Lodge, which prides itself on being a nurturing environment, has a particular focus on creativity and building self-worth. It offers a broad general education to help children become well-rounded, as well as supporting them with personal goals.

Since its origins as a dance school, Hurst Lodge has focused on the arts. Extra-curricular activities include drama and art classes as well as maths or science clubs. ICT has improved in recent years and there is a comprehensive careers programme for students, particularly for older students and sixth-formers.
