Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and innovative English teacher to join our successful department. Last year we achieved 97% A*-C in English, positioning ourselves as one of the top five schools in Essex.

The post is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified teachers who can teach up to key stage 5 and is wishing to teach in a family environment with extremely motivated pupils.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.

About Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College

Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa is a mixed, non-selective, Sikh ethos, all-through school with sixth form and nursery classes situated in Chigwell, Essex. It is an independent school, and will provide 550 places for nursery, primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 3-19 when fully subscribed.

The school opened in September 1993.

Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College was set up to deliver high-quality education, promote equality and provide young people with the skills and attitude to become independent and successful citizens. The curriculum is based around the Sikh faith, encouraging spiritual and cultural development in students.

Pupils can take lessons in a wide range of modern foreign languages, including Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic. There is also a strong sporting culture in the school, with opportunities to play netball and football, and the school cricket team recently reaching the finals of the London Schools Cup.
