Job overview

E-ACT is transforming. Our fresh approach to changing the lives of children and young people requires inspiring, high-calibre people to lead our academies.

Sponsor of 25 academies across England, E-ACT has emerged from a period of significant change. The organisation has the strength and energy to fulfil our goal of transforming the lives of each of the 14,500 young people in our care.

E-ACT's new approach is supported by a new model of school improvement, based on collaborative networks led by E-ACT System Leaders. System Leaders are current, successful E-ACT academy leaders who provide support and challenge to Principals from within the E-ACT trust.

We're recruiting a dynamic and effective Executive Principal who can:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the academy to ensure its continuous improvement;
  • Rapidly raise standards and develop a culture of high aspiration;
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning, eradicating any inadequate teaching and increasing the proportions of good and outstanding teaching;
  • Accelerate the achievement and progress of all learners;
  • Strengthen the effectiveness of leaders and managers at all levels; and
  • Play an active part in contributing to the development of the network of E-ACT academies and supporting 'One E-ACT'.

Located two miles apart in warm, close-knit communities, Nechells Primary E-ACT Academy and Mansfield Green E-ACT Primary Academy require an experienced, visionary Executive Principal to lead the academies to Good and beyond.

Nechells Primary E-ACT Academy is a vibrant and happy community. The children are unique, eager to learn and welcoming. Parents are very supportive, involved, and want the best for their children. Although the academy was judged to require Special Measures in January 2014, staff are committed and want to do their best for the academy.

Mansfield Green E-ACT Primary Academy is on a journey of improvement. Staff are dedicated, committed, and want to see the academy and its children succeed. The pupils are positive, happy and want to do well. Achievement, however, needs to rise rapidly.

The academies have built a strong partnership with Heartlands Academy, a local secondary E-ACT academy judged to be Outstanding. Heartlands, Nechells and Mansfield Green have recently combined their Local Governing Bodies, enabling Nechells and Mansfield Green to benefit from outstanding governance. The academies also benefit from a direct partnership with E-ACT's Bristol primary academies.

The role will be extremely challenging and will require 100% commitment, drive, energy and vision. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to influence wider strategy and have a direct impact on young people. You'll receive extensive support from a committed Head Office staff who share your vision, and be offered regular professional development opportunities.

If you believe that you have the abilities and experience to help transform our academy and the life chances of our young people, we want to hear from you.
