Golden Hillock School is a popular and ambitious 11-16 Academy serving the community of Sparkhill in central Birmingham.

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative, ambitious and passionate individual to lead in raising the standards of teaching and learning. In addition, as the person accountable for leading, managing and further developing Numeracy across the Academy, the post holder must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of raising achievement in the Mathematics faculty and be positive about promoting Numeracy across all areas of the curriculum.

This post is an excellent opportunity for a Mathematics Specialist who wants to extend their experience beyond that of a Head of Department. If you are an outstanding Head of Department or Subject Leader, this post would enable you to maintain close links with classroom practice whilst developing your own leadership potential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding practitioner.
  • Have an outstanding knowledge of classroom skills and teaching strategies which inspire young people.
  • Have a proven record of raising and maintaining high educational standards.
  • Demonstrate the skills to model and motivate colleagues developing their teaching and learning.
  • Possess the ability to lead development in pedagogy and practice in Mathematics from good to outstanding.
  • Have the drive to work with our committed and creative team to continue to raise standards.
