Hereward College is a further education college located in Coventry, West Midlands. First established in 1972, the college is a registered charity, and has around 300 learners of all types on roll. A small number of these live in a residential area on-site, but the vast majority are day-students. The college also caters for young people with a number of different learning difficulties, although not all students meet this description, and the college provides specialist provision and facilities as a result. The college has a distance-learning programme for around 100 students.

Principal

Ms Sheila Fleming

Values and Vision

Hereward College works hard to provide for learners with a range of learning difficulties, and as such offers a diverse and inclusive curriculum. The college is designed to support learners in every way possible outside the classroom, and maintains a number of apprenticeship programmes and work experience placements for students to try. The college provides many of its students with independence training in order to allow them to best enter the world of work when they leave college.

Ofsted

“Leaders’ and managers’ partnership working with employers is effective, resulting in supported internships; these provide good opportunities for a small but growing cohort of learners to enter work and to develop the appropriate skills to help prepare them for their life beyond the college”
