Brief description of role
- You will assist and support the finance manager in the efficient running of the finance office.
- You will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts up to trial balance to include; reconciliation of control accounts, processing of month end adjustments, bank processing and reconciliation, payroll reconciliation.
- You will provide support to other departments with all aspects of the finance function including payroll and budget queries.
- You will have responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the work of the finance assistant.
Brief description of skills experience and education needed
- Experience in a similar role is essential. Knowledge of SAGE 50 would be an advantage.
- You will need good IT skills with an ability to work accurately and independently to a deadline.
- A good working knowledge of payroll including holiday pay calculations and term time adjustments is essential.

Hereward College is a further education college located in Coventry, West Midlands. First established in 1972, the college is a registered charity, and has around 300 learners of all types on roll. A small number of these live in a residential area on-site, but the vast majority are day-students. The college also caters for young people with a number of different learning difficulties, although not all students meet this description, and the college provides specialist provision and facilities as a result. The college has a distance-learning programme for around 100 students.
