Becontree is a lively two form multicultural East London school with 500 children on roll including a 52 place nursery and benefits from having a large Children's Centre.

The governing body is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced post threshold teacher to become our foundation stage co-ordinator and join the school's experienced senior management team. We are looking for an effective team member with the ability to develop and build upon existing good practice as recognised by Ofsted in 2012.

We offer a well organised school which has three teachers to two classes promoting high expectations and are looking for an innovative senior member of staff to work with us to become outstanding.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including a disclosure check (The Application Declaration must be completed and returned with the application).

About Becontree Primary School

Becontree Primary School is a mixed, non-denominational community primary school for three- to 11-year-olds, located in Dagenham, Essex. The school has capacity for just over 500 pupils and is operated by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

The school was established in October 1922 to meet the educational demand created by the construction of the Becontree housing estate.

The school’s motto is “Respecting one another”. Teachers strive to involve parents and carers fully through open dialogue, recognising their importance in their children’s education. Becontree Primary attaches great importance to pupil punctuality and attendance, holding parents accountable when children are late or unnecessarily absent.

Becontree Primary School encourages staff to take pride in the contribution they make to bettering children’s life chances. It hopes that those with a connection to Becontree will look back with a sense of pride in what they achieved and with a respect for themselves and others.
