About us
The prevailing ethos of Alma Park Primary School is one where an atmosphere of mutual support and understanding is fostered. There is commitment on the part of all staff to create a warm, caring environment for children. The quality of partnership with parents/carers, open channels of communication, acknowledging positive behavious and encouraging children to negotiate and co-operate with each other all contribute to ensuring a trusting environment.

This is an important feature, which contributes significantly to the working ethos in our classrooms.

Children are actively encouraged to be involved in the learning process and take some responsibility for organising their learning and assisting classroom management by careful use and maintenance of resources.

There is a School Council which is made up of pupils who are elected to views the views of their class. This gives the pupils the opportunity to be involved in improving school life for everyone. The pupils who are members of the Council work as partners with staff, developing a caring school community.

When all aspects of the above are working inter-dependently, the school ethos flourishes and all children benefit.
