TowerSkills is the Employer-focused Directorate of Tower Hamlets College. TowerSkills is an innovative and enterprising learning provider based in the heart of London. We support organisations to reach their potential by offering tailored training solutions and encourage businesses to respond to changing markets by investing in their staff. We deliver sector specific qualifications and apprenticeship programmes to employees across London and beyond. Alongside this, TowerSkills successfully delivers employability qualifications to hundreds of JobCentrePlus clients, developing their skills and confidence and moving them back into the workforce. TowerSkills also runs TowerSkills Recruitment Services, the College's Recruitment Agency, aiming to find employment solutions for residents and employers in Tower Hamlets and beyond.
The College is currently delivering an ESF Project focused on upgrading skills in employment and improving basic skills. To support this work the College is looking to recruit a Functional Skills Coordinator.
We are looking for an innovative and inspiring functional English and / or maths teacher to join our team to co-ordinate, assess and review the delivery of workplace Functional Skills projects. You will also deliver Functional Skills as part of your role. If you think you would be able to make a positive contribution to our team then we would love to hear from you.
You should have a relevant teaching/training qualification as well as extensive experience in delivering functional skills training. Excellent team and communication skills are essential as is an understanding of the needs of local communities.
