The Governor Development Officer reports to the Strategic Leader, School Improvement, Learning & Skills (SILS) and is part of the SILS Team of the Strategic Lead and 7 reports. The postholder will have 18.5 hours per week administrative support.

The postholder should be self-directed and able to make decisions with confidence based on specialist knowledge and experience. S/he needs to have the skill to engage diverse groups of governors through the effective delivery of training as well as the ability to guide them in procedure and other legal aspects in governing body meetings. Good communication, both oral and written, is key to the successful delivery of this role.
