HFL Education (formerly Herts for Learning) (HFL) is an award-winning provider of products and services to schools and educational settings within and outside Hertfordshire.

We believe that every young person, through access to a great education, should be able to realise their potential, regardless of where they live or their circumstances. Our work is focused on supporting the schools we work with to achieve successful long-term outcomes for their children. HFL is the UK’s largest school company, operates with a not-for-profit ethos and is majority owned by Hertfordshire schools.  Beyond maintaining sufficient reserves and financing long-term projects, any surplus made is invested in the common good and/or the development of specific new services to address key challenges for our shareholding schools. Since our inception in 2013 we have reinvested nearly £1million in activities that would not otherwise have attracted funding.

Our purpose

We believe that every young person, through access to a great education, should be able to realise their potential, regardless of where they live, their background or circumstances.

Our vision

As a school owned and led social enterprise, we aim to work with every school, setting and trust in Hertfordshire, providing a full range of high-quality products, services, and training to support them to deliver a great education. All our services will deliver demonstrable impact. We will extend our reach through the digital delivery of selected services on a national basis, aiming to generate 20% of revenues outside of Hertfordshire by 24/25. To broaden our position and extend our scope, we are committed to partnering with organisations that share our values and whose services deliver demonstrable impact..

Our values

Our company values define how we want to be perceived by others:

  • Trusted
  • Inspirational
  • Collaborative.

HFL is committed to being an equal opportunities employer. We insist on the equal treatment of all current and prospective colleagues and will never condone discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.

We encourage you to view our Anti-racist position statement which gives clarity on our anti-racist stance.  Please note that if you are invited to interview, we will expect you to be prepared to discuss unconscious bias with us; we find these conversations more than any others give us all a good idea of what working together will be like.

To help us meet our high standards and aspirations of a fully diverse and inclusive workplace, we strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply and to join us.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply. Tes is not responsible for the content of advertisements or the policies adopted by advertising schools. Tes asks that all schools follow Tes' Fair Recruitment Policy.
