Head of Commerce at a school with an International Perspective

Queen Margaret College

Join an Independent Presbyterian girls' school in downtown Wellington. For 95 years it has been offering girls the opportunity to learn in a school which teaches students to practice the concept of Christian Living through respect and consideration for others.

As Head of Commerce you may have been teaching for 2-3 years and are now ready to step up and advance your career. Working in a small department your energy and aspirations to lead in Commerce would be ideal. The ability to teach to Year 13 Economics, Business and Commerce and experience in an IB environment would be preferable as your expertise could be utilised. This school offers small classes, motivated students whom achieve outstanding results and a dual pathway for qualifications.

Queen Margaret College provides education from Pre-School to Year 13. They are an IB World School and the only girls' school in the lower North Island offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma. They celebrate the cultural diversity of their students, a feature of the school from early in its history, located close to embassies, high commissions and parliament. The perspective gained here is culturally rich and necessarily global.

The College is a unique and vibrant community where learning and relationships are at the centre of school life. They provide rigorous and engaging academic and extra-curricular programmes to meet the needs of girls at each stage of their educational journey. Technology is integrated across the curriculum ensuring that students are equipped for today's digital world.

Values and vision

The school’s special character is nurtured by a religious education programme, assemblies and services where respect for spirituality and different beliefs is encouraged.
