Job overview

As Head of Department, you will be responsible for two main curriculum teams - Supported Learning based at the Willesden Campus and Learning Support, which is across both the Willesden and Wembley campuses.

Your role will be to maximise student recruitment, retention and achievement, and the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in the Department of Supported Learning and Learning Support.

Furthermore, with respect to Learning Support, ensure centralised (IT) learning support is relevant, up to date and available to all students regardless of LS status and ensure centralised tracking of supported learners' retention and success is disseminated and action is taken to realise equality of success. In order to fulfil this purpose, the Head of Department line manages members of staff organised in curriculum teams who support students through academic and pastoral support processes.

You must have a clear vision for the development of Supported Learning and Learning Support and be able to form productive relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents/carers and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for students.

This position offers final salary pension plan and support with further training and career development.
