Broomhill Bank is an expanding school benefitting from a £2m building development. We are looking for an inspirational Head of Department who can develop English across school and enable students aged 11-19 with communication and interaction difficulties to reach their full learning potential in the subject.

Prior experience of working in a specialist setting is not essential as high quality SEN support and training will be provided.

The post attracts SENA and a TLR payment.

Broomhill Bank is a coeducational foundation special school, situated within beautiful grounds in West Kent. We cater for students with communication and interaction difficulties (C&I) who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and are likely to benefit from a place in a special school. Students eligible for places will probably have a diagnosis of Autism, Aspergers or other significant social communication difficulty, such as pervasive developmental disorder, and/or severe receptive or expressive language impairment or disorder.

Following an Ofsted inspection in March 2018, Broomhill Bank School was judged to be a ‘good’ special school.

We are designated to cater for 280 students aged 11-19, In addition, we support a large number of students in local mainstream schools, and provide training for mainstream staff through our Outreach Services.
