Applications are welcome from current Heads of Department, experienced Seconds in English or very experienced TLR holders for the position of Head of English Literature at Park View School.

At Park View School, we have a passion for teaching & learning and sharing good practice. We are looking for a Head of English Literature who can deliver inspirational lessons to pupils and believes in the right of every student to fulfil their potential.

You will be someone who has a very positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. You will have substantial experience in leading a successful department, developing a team and of delivering CPD to colleagues. You will be someone who is keen to enhance the practice of others both on a departmental and whole school level. We generously invest in the development of all of our staff to ensure the best provision for our pupils. The English department is a hugely successful one within the school and will require an experienced middle leader who is inspirational, dynamic and committed to the achievement of every single young person in their care. The successful candidate will work in a department of 7 teachers and 1 support staff member.

Park View is an Outstanding School (Ofsted January 2012) and the founding school of the Park View Educational Trust. We have a strong shared vision and ethos completely focused upon learning potential, character development and outcomes for our students. Although over 70% of our pupils are eligible for free school meals and over 90% have English as an additional language, in the summer of 2013 75% of our students achieved 5 A*-C including English and Mathematics and the English department achieved 81% A*- C. We are predicting similar results for 2014.
