An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and capable Head of Foundation English and Maths in one of the country's largest Colleges.

With a turnover of £47m annually, the College services c.17,000 learners each year from a diverse variety of backgrounds. With state-of-the-art facilities, Beacon status, Gold Investors in People status and an excellent purpose-built estate across the city, the College is home to ground breaking innovation and involved in a wide variety of exciting new developments across the city and the wider educational landscape.

The successful candidate will be accountable for effectively planning, communicating, implementing, tracking, managing and leading the College's curriculum for Foundation English & Maths, utilising multiple types of Teaching and Learning provision. The post holder will also ensure that curriculum and support staff are supported to develop their English and Maths skills through an effective programme of continuous professional development.

You will have proven success as the accountable person for improving student performance & retention rates over multiple curriculum years. You will have knowledge of course structures & effective timetabling to enable optimal student retention & engagement, together with best utilisation of Teaching and Learning staff. You must have a detailed understanding of OFSTED, SAR processes and quality inspection regimes

 Founded in 1992 following the merger of four further education facilities, The City of Liverpool College is a co-educational, non-denominational further education facility operating from six educational sites. The College Campus is located within Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, which also includes John Moores University and the University of Liverpool. Over £100 million has been invested into the city centre campus. As of the most recent inspection the approximate number of students on the total school roll was 11,000. There are a total of over 500 courses on offer to students, including young learners, sixth form, and adult education.
