Job overview

The Governors are looking to appoint a Head of Mathematics at the TLR 1 level in this English medium school. You will be an experienced and outstanding practitioner, able to demonstrate a successful record of public examination success and with a desire to shape the delivery of the mathematics curriculum across the school. You will be expected to teach across the age and ability range up to and including GCSE level. You will then continue the drive for excellence within the department. This is an exciting leadership challenge, which is crucial to the further development of the school.

Situated in Gwersyllt, Wrexham, Ysgol Bryn Alyn is a community secondary day school for children between the ages of 11 and 16. It educates around 702 girls and boys at present. Students come from primarily seven local primary schools. This includes Gwersyllt Junior, Ysgol Heulfan, St. Mary’s, New Broughton, Brymbo, Tanyfron C.P., Black Lane C.P, Pentre Broughton and Brynteg C.P. School. Students are taught through the medium of English. 

Over the past 10 years the site has been modernised with the building of a new Science block. September 2017 saw the opening of a brand new teaching and reception area in line with the 21st Century Schools programme.
