WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN OUTSTANDING HEAD OF SCHOOL

Following a Requires Improvement Ofsted in April 2013 the Academy has been supported by an Outstanding Executive Head, significant progress has been made and the school is on the cusp of Good. The Philip Morant School and College is now seeking to appoint a Head of School to work alongside the Executive Headteacher.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Head of School who:

  • Is an inspirational and outstanding Leader able to work alongside the Executive Headteacher to develop a clear vision for the future of the school, building on its current capacity for improvement.
  • Will lead by example, with a dynamic attitude that will inspire commitment from students, staff and the local community.
  •  Has a proven track record of implementing change to raise standards in teaching and learning, within a consistent, caring, accountable ethos.

About Philip Morant School And College

Our aim is to provide each of our students with the highest quality education and care and for every student to achieve their full academic, social, physical and spiritual potential. We feel that the school has a great deal to offer and is therefore justified in making considerable demands on all our students to maintain and achieve the highest possible standards.

The school is organised on a House basis, which gives students the advantage of belonging to a small ‘school within a school’.

During Years 7 - 9, we offer a broad and balanced education for all students, which takes into account the level of ability of each individual student and some students begin GCSEs early. In the course of the 9th Year, choices are made regarding the ensuing 10th and 11th Year courses. In the 11th Year students are entered for G.C.S.E. examinations and vocational qualifications, as appropriate. We aim to enter all students for a full examination programme where appropriate.

Our sixth form, Philip Morant College, has purpose built accommodation and we have been delighted with its success since its reformation in 1996. We offer a wide range of A level subjects which are supplemented by advanced vocational courses and extra curriculum programme. As in the rest of the school, the emphasis in our sixth form is on quality and excellence.

We are continually improving our site and facilities to ensure we are moving constantly forward in this respect. The whole school community is very pleased with the refurbishments to date and these are already making a very positive impact on learning.
