We now have an excellent, exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to lead and develop the School of Academic, Public Services & Sport Studies.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership of Functional Skills, GCSE Maths, and English and A level provision and will have the skills to develop, lead and implement strategies for maximising student achievement and ensure an excellent student experience. A commitment to student success and innovative teaching, learning and assessment is vital as are very effective people and performance management skills.

The purpose of the role is to lead and inspire a School of Learning to provide excellent teaching and learning and provide an outstanding learning experience. Learners' success will be your driver. This success will be achieved through your leadership of your staff. You will be engaged in our strategic objective to be outstanding and will recognise and develop excellence in all areas of provision.

You will report directly to the Deputy Principal: Teaching and Learning.
You will be accountable for the success of the School of Learning. This success will be measured through high success rates, learner satisfaction surveys and high levels of progression to further study, higher education or employment.

The School of Academic Public Services and Sports Studies is a large school of learning delivering GCSEs, A Levels, Sport and Public Services courses from level 1 to level 3.  The School of Learning also has a significant volume of higher education students following foundation degree and BA top-up programmes.  The central delivery team for English and maths is within this School of Learning.  This team delivers English and maths functional skills and GCSEs to students in all curriculum areas as part of the 16-19 study programmes.  Appendix 1 provides further detail about the school of learning.

The post is offered on a West Nottinghamshire College delivery management contract and is subject to those terms and conditions.

You will be entitled to 35 days leave plus bank holidays.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week on a flexible basis.

The post holder may be located at any West Nottinghamshire College site and may be expected to travel as required.
