About Marshwood CE Primary Academy

Marshwood School is a small rural school of 61 pupils overlooking the idyllic Marshwood Vale on the Dorset/Devon/Somerset borders. It is located 8 miles from the coastal town of Lyme Regis and in easy reach of Dorchester, Exeter, Taunton and Yeovil.

Main line trains run from Axminster to London's Waterloo Station.

The School, built in 1842 was completely refurbished and modernised in 1987 and, more recently the following improvements have been made:-
• A well equipped ICT suite installed.
• Interactive whiteboards in every teaching space.
• The adjoining church has been adapted and modernised, allowing the school to use it as a school hall.
• A fourth classroom has been built in the roof space.
These modern facilities enable us to cater for the present educational needs and all their constant changes.

The school is a very happy family community, with a strong Christian ethos in which great emphasis is placed on self-discipline, a positive attitude and regard for others.

The curriculum is well planned, lively and imaginative meeting the needs of our rural children, preparing and inspiring them for life in the 21st century

Children are admitted to Marshwood School as rising 5's in September. They are transferred to The Woodroffe School at Lyme Regis at the age of 11.

The school is part of the Lyme Regis Pyramid, which enables children and staff to work collaboratively with other schools to enhance the curriculum.

The governors are looking for an ambitious and inspirational person to take our already successful school on to greater heights.

Applicants should state their strengths, interests and vision that they could offer the school.
