Post No: MA029

The College is seeking to recruit a dynamic, creative and inspirational Head of School to lead our Hair & Beauty and Retail & Hospitality team, to optimise student success and to provide high quality learning experiences across 16 - 18, adult learners and apprentices.

Responsible for the leadership and management of a team of Tutors, Assessors and Technical staff, the successful candidate should have substantial experience in the delivery and management of Hair & Beauty provision, together with a proven track record in leading teams to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.

Other key priorities for the Head of School will include the ability to drive and further develop our engagement with key employers, the expansion of client bases for our commercial salons and the development of entrepreneurial activities for learners. Again, suitable experience is essential.

Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Hair & Beauty, preferably to Degree level, and holding a Level 5 teaching qualification, you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to current and relevant CPD activity which will enhance the curriculum and learners' experience.

The School operates at both the Woodlands and Blossomfield Campus with leading sponsors in the field of hair and beauty.

Ofsted report

“Good teaching in most subjects develops learners’ and apprentices’ knowledge, skills and understanding well, enabling a high proportion to make good progress. Careers advice and guidance are effective. Learners are placed on a level of study that best suits their skills and interests, so that the vast majority complete their courses and move on successfully to further study, apprenticeships and employment. Learners and apprentices quickly develop a broad range of good personal, social employability skills, as well as positive attitudes to learning, that prepare them well for their future careers.”
