The University of Gloucestershire is seeking an outstanding candidate to lead our School of Education.

The University has been educating teachers for over 160 years, and it remains core to our mission. Our primary education programmes are rated outstanding by Ofsted. In addition to our BEd and PGCE programmes, we have worked in partnership with local schools to build a large and thriving School Direct programme.

We are now seeking a new Head of School with the skills and vision to build on this long and proud tradition of success.

Responsible for almost 800 students, you will lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals to deliver research-informed programmes of initial and continuing teacher education. The University is committed to ensuring that those programmes offer an outstanding quality of teaching and learning for students, and an excellent preparation for them to become exceptional teachers.

Over many years, the University has developed strong local ITE partnerships, working with over 300 schools. The new Head of School will be skilled in sustaining those partnerships, developing innovative approaches to the delivery of programmes, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, and acting as the University's expert voice on education in Gloucestershire and beyond.

The University is an ambitious, diverse and, vibrant community of 10,000 students and 1,000 staff working across ten academic schools and three campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester. The School of Education has a central role in working with colleagues across the University in developing teaching and research programmes for professional and public services.
