Alfreton Grange Arts College is a mixed 11-19 community college in Alfreton, Derbyshire. The college is a highly inclusive school with a growing Sixth Form.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Science.  We need someone who is professional, caring and who has the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the education of our students. 

Applicants should be well qualified, outstanding practitioners with an impressive and proven track record in teaching and learning and the raising of standards and achievement within Science.

Your Vision

You will have a relentless focus on standards and a deeply held belief that all students can succeed, given the right opportunity and support.

You will:

  • Have the talent to inspire, challenge and empower staff and students
  • Be an outstanding classroom teacher
  • Have experience in the effective use of data to inform and improve student  performance
  • Be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a creative and strategic thinker.
  • Have experience of teaching science at Key Stages 3,4 and preferably also at Key Stage 5.
  • Be energetic, determined and enthusiastic.
