Location: Park View School The Academy of Mathematics & Science

Applications are welcome from experienced individuals who are looking for a new challenge.

Science at the Academy is taught as three separate sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The Science department is accommodated within a suite of five science laboratories with another teaching room available.

The successful candidate will be expected to make a major contribution to the continuing development of our Science department. Applicant should be able to demonstrate previous and successful experience of raising standards through their teaching of Science across the age and ability range. They will have the ability to motivate pupils, as well as being able to work as part of a team to ensure all pupils reach their full potential. The successful post holder will be required to manage a team of 6 Teachers supported by a team of three dedicated Technicians. We therefore need someone who:

  • has a proven track record of raising standards;
  • can demonstrate and evidence strong subject knowledge;
  • be organised, innovative and self-motivated;
  • provide leadership to an established team and report to the leadership alignment on the quality of standards, attainment and student progress.
