Due to the retirement of the current Head, the Sponsors of Walsall Academy, The Mercers' Company and Thomas Telford School, are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and inspirational candidate to lead this successful Academy.

The Governors particularly welcome applications from proven experienced Heads or aspirational Deputy Heads with the requisite skills to lead this Academy through the next exciting phase of its development. A six figure salary is available with salary enhancement for a successful existing Head.

  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the latest Ofsted framework
  • Committed to work collaboratively within the Thomas Telford group of schools

Walsall Academy in Bloxwich, Walsall opened in September 2003. The student enrolment is 1390, with 1,060 in the lower school and a further 330 students in the Sixth Form. The School is one of a number of City Academies established in England prior to the expansion of the Academies Programme in 2010 and was originally sponsored by The Mercers’ Company of the City of London and Thomas Telford School.

We are now a founder school in the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust.
