Dorchester Primary is a vibrant, successful, growing school, with a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, pastoral care and inclusion. We are approaching a very exciting phase in our growth, with the opening of a brand new KS2 building to accommodate 3-form entry, which reaches Year 3 in September.

We were evaluated by Ofsted in 2011 as 'good, with outstanding care, support and parent partnership'.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic Headteacher to build on the strengths and successes of the school, and who:

  • Can demonstrate a passion for children's learning, with high expectations and aspirations for all
  • Has the ability and drive to motivate, inspire, challenge and support children, staff and parents
  • Is an excellent communicator, committed to collaboration, with the ability to build on existing strong relationships with the wider school community
  • Leads by example, and has a track record in raising standards and achievement levels
