Job overview

Headteacher, Wiltshire

Permanent, Full-time with a 0.4 teaching requirement

St. George's is a village school, it is a popular community orientated church school and is now looking for a new Head teacher to lead the school from the beginning of the next academic year.

St. George's strives to be a place of learning, caring and sharing at the heart of our community'; it is a dynamic place which prepares the children for their futures as lifelong learners and happy, active and fulfilled members of society. In February 2013, we were rated by Ofsted as Good in all areas. We are proud to note that Ofsted has commented that "pupils' positive attitudes to lessons and towards each other, coupled with the way staff tackles discrimination, makes the school a happy place to learn."

The Governing Body is now looking for a dynamic leader to embrace the challenge of maintaining the school's respected position in the village community whilst leading and supporting our pupils, parents and staff as we take the next steps in improving further.

To achieve this we are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent leader with well developed management skills.
  • Inspires trust and commitment from the whole school and wider community.
  • Fosters a culture and ethos based on Christian vision and values, challenge, support and creativity.
  • Communicates well with all involved parties, develops our partnership with the local church and wider community and collaborates with the Melksham cluster of schools.
  • Is willing to drive the school's vision and manage structural change within the educational landscape.
  • Has the enthusiasm and skills to lead the school into the next decade of improvements.

By visiting our school you will be able to see for yourself how you can be a member of our excellent team and contribute to the continued improvement in standards and achievement.

To arrange a visit, please contact Angela Weston on 01380 870243, or otherwise via email: admin@st-georges-semington.wilts.sch.uk
