About Woodchester Endowed Church of England (Aided) Primary School

Woodchester Endowed C of E Primary School is an Aided School, which means that we are a Church School aided by the local authority. The St Mary’s Church P.C.C. appoints the majority of our governors and staff are appointed within the Christian Ethos of the school. The Endowment is from the Seys and Bridges Trust who set up the school in 1885. As a Voluntarily Aided (VA) school the Governors control their own pupil admissions but using LEA agreed procedures.
There has been a school in Woodchester since 1837 and education has been carried on in the existing building since 1889.
