Paulton Infant School is a consistently good performing school (Ofsted 2011) located in an attractive and unique village 10 miles south of Bath and Bristol. Sharing a site with a separate Junior School, we provide excellent EYFS and KS1 specialism and due to popularity and population increases locally are midway through expanding to 3 form intake. After 17 successful and stimulating years our Headteacher retired at the end of the 2013/14 academic year and we are therefore seeking a new, dynamic leader to take us forward as we strive to be an 'outstanding' school.

We are looking for a Headteacher who:

  • will lead, challenge and inspire staff and pupil performance
  • has an in-depth understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning at EYFS & KS1 and the ability to support the ongoing development of these skills within the school
  • is a strong communicator and will employ excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with pupils, staff, parents and members of the wider community
  • has strong strategic leadership skills and is adept at using data to identify areas for improvement and developing appropriate strategies
  • will work with the Governing Body to support and strengthen the school's vision meeting the requirements of a changing educational landscape and build on its community ethos
  • will embrace new ideas and technologies to further the school's development and success.

In return we can offer you:

  • well behaved children, whose enjoyment of the school was judged by Ofsted as Outstanding, and who are excited by learning
  • a young, dynamic and supportive team ambitious for development
  • a financially secure school with well-maintained buildings and extensively refurbished facilities
  • a committed and supportive Governing Body
  • a flexible and creative approach to the planning, teaching and assessment of the curriculum with a history of good outcomes
  • a fantastic reputation reflecting in the need for expansion
  • strong links with Paulton Junior School and the wider community
  • a 7 point salary range of £52,653 to £61,012 depending upon experience and vision.
