Due to the retirement of the Headteacher, the Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed successor to lead the school on the next stage of its journey.

This is an exciting time for the school to continue its development of a successful special school. The school was recently rated as Good by OFSTED in July 2014.

Crosshill is a special foundation school, with a current roll of 50 students, boys and girls aged 11-16 years, many of whom have moderate learning difficulties. The student population is changing, with a growing intake of students with severe learning difficulties. The school is located within a newly built PFI Secondary School in the centre of Blackburn and has a dedicated staff team of 21.

• Outstanding leadership and management skills with a proven track record.
• Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of a range of Special Educational Needs.
• A clear strategic vision for the school.
• Excellent communication and inter personal skills toliaise with a complex range of stakeholders including students, staff, parents, governors and the wider community.
