Are you a sheep or do you stand out from the crowd?

In the beautiful Pennine hills surrounding Ripponden J&I School, there are plenty of sheep so we're certainly not looking for one in our Headteacher!

The governing body is keen to appoint an inspirational and innovative leader with a passion for education that inspires and motivates their team. We want our new Headteacher to be an exceptional primary practitioner, someone who is aspirational, tenacious and has the ability to think outside of the box in these ever changing and challenging times in education. Our school has a dedicated and talented team of staff, fantastic children who are keen and eager to learn and an active governing body working as a critical friend.

In spite of a prolonged period of leadership instability, we are proud that our school has maintained its good Ofsted rating. That in itself, demonstrates how well our incredible team of staff has worked together to maintain standards. With an inspirational Headteacher at the helm, we are confident we can be Outstanding next time.

This may not sound much of a challenge but don't be deceived into thinking this job will be a breeze.

Our school is expanding in numbers but not in space. We are becoming a 1.5 form intake and we now need to think creatively in terms of where and how our children will be taught; with the need to introduce mixed age classes. We need you to champion our school to ensure our children get room to grow (in size and knowledge!) and our staff needs your support to champion their development as we adapt our approach to meet the changing needs of our school.
