About Ellesmere Port Christ Church CofE Primary School

Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts is a co-educational comprehensive School for pupils aged 11 to 19 years.

In September 2006, there were 904 pupils on roll. Including the Headteacher and part time teachers, there are 65 members of teaching staff.

Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts is growing from strength to strength in terms of our results and facilities. We are committed to developing the maximum potential of all our pupils, both as individuals and as responsible members of our community as a whole, and to that end we have a very committed and experienced staff who are proud of the standard and quality of work produced.

We continue to provide new and challenging courses for our youngsters, alongside a rich and varied calendar of extra-curricular and sporting activities, educating the ‘whole’ child. Results and resources continue to improve, after breaking our previous records and we have been recently quoted as the best school in Cheshire for adding value between GCSE and ‘A’ Level.

All visitors to the school are impressed by the atmosphere we create – the quality of the learning environment, the work that is on display and the positive, encouraging atmosphere created by a caring staff.

In summer 2007 our GCSE results were the best yet – proof of our commitment to working on behalf of our pupils.

OFSTED IMPRESSIONS

When we were inspected in March 2006, the inspectors judged us to be a school with many good features, including the good attitude and behaviour of the pupils and their willingness to learn. The school is “tireless” in its support of pupils and there is a substantial amount of outstanding teaching, providing good value for money. There is a friendly atmosphere and a sound system for setting targets. Personal development is strength of the school, where pupils have a good sense of right and wrong. Any instances of bullying or harassment are taken seriously and speedily dealt with. Teachers’ enthusiasm is contagious and they have excellent relationships with their pupils. There is a positive buzz of activity and as a result, pupils are well motivated. They feel safe, knowing that any worries will be dealt with well. The school has great staying power and is highly astute in its own self-evaluation.
