Having had a recent successful Ofsted we are looking to the future and would like you to consider joining us.

We are a dynamic single form entry Church of England Primary school, firmly rooted in the community. Our children apply themselves wholeheartedly, show respect to one another and adults and are always happy to help others.

This is an exciting period for St Matthew's and the ideal time for us to recruit our next inspirational Headteacher. We want to use the many strengths of our school to meet the ever changing needs of our local community.

The new Headteacher would also have the unique opportunity to work with the Governors to appoint a new Deputy Head.

The Governors are looking to appoint a new Headteacher who:

  • is committed to the Christian ethos of the school and the close relationship with the Parish Church
  • believes in all pupils, sets high expectations and creates the conditions for each child to reach their full potential
  • shares the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos and is demonstrably fair
  • has a substantive record of successful senior leadership in primary schools
  • is an exemplary role model
  • has demonstrable experience of effective change management
  • combines vision, analytical skill and an ability to process overt and covert information into fruitful working knowledge and practice

We can offer

  • teaching that is good and outstanding
  • a close knit, happy community with children who want to learn and staff who want to teach
  • strong links with parents, church and local community
  • a Governing Body who are fully committed and open to innovation
  • strong leadership teams who take a shared responsibility for moving the school forward
  • creative teaching and learning opportunities including an outdoor learning environment
  • a culture of investment in our staff, reflected in our budget priorities
