Job overview

Applications are invited for the position of Headteacher

The Trustees invite applications for the Headship of Wykeham House School to succeed Mrs Lynn Clarke who is retiring after nine years of excellent leadership.

Founded in 1913, Wykeham House is a highly successful School which achieved an excellent ISI Inspection Report in October 2013.

Wykeham House School is a vibrant busy community with nearly 200 pupils in the age range 3 to 16 years. Wykeham House is at a very exciting position in its long development as it has just set up a single sex Boys' School to mirror the excellent Girls' School and currently this has an age range 3 to 11years with the intention that it will grow year on year for the next four years until the boys also reach Year 11. The Headteacher will be responsible for both Schools.

A full Application Package and details of the procedure can be downloaded from our website; www.wykehamhouse.com.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Midday, Friday 24th October 2014.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th November.

Wykeham House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We trust that these pages will give you information about our aims and ethos, our history and our very experienced Trustees and staff. You will also see that we are a School that engages with our former pupils through our Wykeham House Association, WHA, and our current parents in the thriving Wykeham House Independent School Parents’ Association, WHISPA.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate inspects the School every six years and our recent Inspection in October 2013 offers you an external report about us. The staff and Trustees of the School feel that the report captured the essence of Wykeham House on a day-to-day basis and will be found in full on these pages.
