Following the appointment of Martin Post as a Regional Schools Commissioner, the Governing Body are now seeking an inspirational, experienced leader to build on existing strengths to develop and deliver an innovative and ambitious educational vision for WBGS.
The next Head will be an exceptional strategic thinker with substantial senior leadership experience, highly effective management skills and strong intellectual abilities. A charismatic, visible leader, s/he will inspire a highly qualified staff, and engage students, parents and other external stakeholders in an exciting vision to take WBGS to an even higher level. A genuine resonance with the WBGS aims and ethos is essential.

Watford Grammar School for Boys is an academy with over 1400 students, including over 400 in the sixth form. From its origins as a charity school for 60 pupils founded by Dame Elizabeth Fuller in 1704, the boys’ school moved to its present site in 1912 and became an Academy in 2010. Located next to the centre of Watford, near Cassiobury Park, it comprises of a Grade II listed building, The Clarendon Muse, The James Theatre, a dedicated STEM Centre and extensive sports facilities.
