This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to an inclusive school, working with a successful team in the next phase of the school's history. Like any role of this scope, this headship has the potential to be challenging yet hugely rewarding.

This role offers:

  • Hardworking, dedicated and supportive staff, governors and parents
  • Governors who are extremely supportive of the Head and the leadership team, believing that an excellent school is based on teamwork.
  • Strong partnership working with feeder schools within the Trust
  • Opportunities for professional development

The successful candidate will be:

  • an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of improvement
  • able to inspire and motivate all stakeholders
  • able to have high standards and expectations of self and of others and be able to lead by example
  • aspirational, ambitious and committed to excellence in teaching and learning
  • demonstrate a clear strategic vision and proven ability to generate support and commitment from all stakeholders
  • an excellent communicator able to work successfully with both internal stakeholders and external agencies and stakeholders

Above all, you will share the stakeholders of South Wigston High School's commitment and determination to providing a learning environment that enables all young people to thrive. You will also share the school's values and ethos of 'success for all', having the ability to create new opportunities for all students and staff. The Governing Body will be supportive and open to fresh ideas that an ambitious and innovative leader could bring to build on the success that the school has achieved.

If you possess these qualities and share the excitement for the future of South Wigston High School then we will be delighted to hear from you.
