The governors, staff, parents and pupils of Thornton in Craven Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Headteacher who can build on our current provision, to secure even higher levels of achievement through outstanding teaching and learning across the school.

The school itself has 77 Pupils and sits at the heart of the village in a superb semi-rural setting. We are situated close to Skipton and easily commutable from Harrogate, and east Lancashire, our postcode has just been awarded the 'best place to live in Britain' by The Sunday Times.

The Governors require a Headteacher who will:

  • Provide strong Management and visionary leadership.
  • Maintain rigorous standards of teaching and raise the level of children's achievement.
  • Ensure that every child is educated according to their needs whilst reaching their full potential.
  • Sustain and develop the spirit of care and respect routed in the character and ethos of our school.
  • Continue to develop the school's strong links with parents, community and local interests
  • Manage and develop the existing staff to ensure the provision of the highest quality of teaching possible.
  • 0.4 teaching commitment.
