Headteacher

The Bury St Edmunds Academy Trust and governors of Tollgate Primary School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher for Tollgate Primary School. Tollgate School is the newest member of the trust, which operates all-through schooling in three phases in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Tollgate caters for pupils aged 4-9 years and has an on-site nursery. The current role is 250. Until academy conversion Tollgate School was in Special Measures but has been improving since being supported by the trust.

This is an exciting challenge for an enthusiastic and skilful leader and we seek to appoint someone who:

• has a proven record of excellent classroom practice
• has very good leadership and management skills
• has a clear vision and high expectations for school improvement
• is committed to 4-19, all-through education and prepared to work constructively with other members of the trust
• has excellent personal and team building skills
• has very good understanding of curriculum and staff development
• is strongly committed to working closely with governors, parents and the wider community
• has a very positive attitude to innovation and change.

The trust seeks to further develop and grow Tollgate School and the school's governors will provide extensive support.
