Values and vision

Therfield School’s motto is “The best for all – excellence, leadership, opportunity”. There are five core values at the heart of the secondary: respect, responsibility, perseverance, independence and integrity. Teachers encourage students to develop their leadership skills, while fostering in pupils the courage to stand up for what is right as they progress into adult life.

Self-discipline and self-worth are instilled into pupils in order to help them achieve to their full potential. Therfield School wants its young people to grow into remarkable citizens and so develops their skills, knowledge and character alongside their studies.

Leadership and teamwork are key to the school’s ethos and a number of programmes are offered to expand these skills, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, Surrey School Games and World Challenge Expeditions. The secondary holds specialist status in sports, with facilities including a gym, tennis courts and an astroturf pitch.

Ofsted report

Leaders and managers, including those responsible for governance, are highly ambitious for the success of students. They work hard to ensure that all students are treated equally and that there is no discrimination.”
