About Our School:

Dyatmika School (Sekolah Dyatmika) will be starting its 19th year of operation and has grown to offer a rich educational programme in English and Indonesian to children from the age of 4 to 18. The school has a solid reputation in Bali and beyond. Graduating students have gone on to universities in different parts of the world, e.g. the UK, the US, Australia, Netherlands, Indonesia, and Japan.

Our international teachers and heads of school work together with their Indonesian counterparts using their overseas experience to instill sound teaching practices and leadership and management skills. Teachers demonstrate and practice Western teaching methodology, particularly inquiry and experiential approaches to learning. The curriculum is co-planned incorporating the strong vision and mission of the school.

The school itself is situated on a beautiful campus overlooking rice paddies, the beach and the ocean. As well as striving for a rigorous academic programme, the school community is committed to fostering a sense of belonging, it embraces the value of service to others, it respects and incorporates the Balinese culture and strives to be environmentally aware. The school also looks beyond its own boundaries to furthering the excellence of teaching and education in Indonesian national schools.

About Sekolah Dyatmika Bali

Why work with us at Dyatmika?

Experience a vibrant and rewarding teaching experience in Bali, Indonesia.

The school and its community

Dyatmika is a not for profit school that reinvests its income back into the school and lives its mission on a daily basis. Our Board of Governors and parent body are very supportive.

Our beautiful, purpose built school site overlooks a green belt area of rice paddies and the beach by the Indian Ocean.

Learning at Dyatmika

International teachers teach the Cambridge International Programme to IGCSEs, AS and A Levels. This curriculum is augmented through a programme of field trips and camps. Extra-curricular activities and the Balinese cultural programme mean that students have a wide variety of opportunities to broaden their horizons and find their passion.

Our students

Our students are respectful and talented young people who make teaching here truly rewarding. Student leadership is strong and works in a partnership with teachers and parents. Students’ academic success means they go on to universities and colleges in Indonesia and throughout the world, including the UK, the USA, Australia, the Netherlands, Japan and Indonesia.

Our teachers

Our international teachers are well qualified and experienced, with the majority coming from the UK, Australia and North America. Our International Teachers and Heads of School work collegially with their Indonesian counterparts to plan and deliver teaching programmes based on current, effective teaching and learning strategies.

At Dyatmika we value our teachers, promote Professional Development and actively develop leadership capacity. International teachers are provided with Indonesian language lessons at school. Other school based options for teachers include yoga and exercise classes.

Bali

Bali is endlessly fascinating with plenty of intercultural and lifestyle opportunities. Bali’s international airport offers a gateway to the rest of Indonesia and the region.

More about our school

Dyatmika’s mission

Dyatmika’s mission is to develop confident, happy and academically successful individuals who know how to learn and are critical thinkers. Our aim is that students will have well established values, develop civic responsibility, show respect for others and the natural environment.

The School Charter emphasises moral integrity; religious and social tolerance; intellectual capacity; broad knowledge; civic responsibility; and cultural preservation and sensible management of the natural environment.

Bilingual education

In Primary, students are immersed in a stimulating bilingual English and Indonesian learning environment so that they develop as users of both languages. Our outstanding International and National teachers embrace current educational research in the area of bilingual education.

In High School, students are taught in English; Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level programmes demand fluency in English, and our programme provides this. However, our aim remains that our students become part of the local community, with language a powerful tool to enable this goal. Bilingualism is maintained with the provision of first language Bahasa Indonesia classes, together with second language classes that support the development of all students’ Indonesian language level.

A warm and caring school community

Dyatmika School has a strong and stable community. Many families send their children to Dyatmika for their entire school career. Our welcoming school is small enough to recognise and embrace the strength of every individual yet big enough to be socially diverse.

Over its 22 years of operation the school has grown steadily from 27 students to around 580 students from the youngest in the playgroup to our oldest in the graduating Class 12.
