Temporary (2 terms) Contract; Part-time

Purpose of Job : This role is being advertised as a temporary position to enable the existing ICT staff to spend more time developing the digital infrastructure at St Olave's. The role will require teaching ICT to classes throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Teaching and monitoring programmes of work/activities that are appropriate to the differentiated needs of children in the age group
  • Attending to the emotional and social needs of each child within the class
  • Creating a happy and positive environment within the classroom
  • Making sure that appropriate forms of assessment and recording of pupils' performances are conducted with sufficient frequency to ensure each child works to his or her potential
  • Effectively managing and deploying teaching assistants
  • Contacting parents with regard to matters of concern and ensuring a good level of positive communication between home and school
  • Informing parents of their child's progress through interviews, written reports and Parents' Evenings
  • Ensuring that there is adequate transfer of information with other teachers regarding pupils ability, needs and progress
  • Contributing to curriculum development
  • Taking shared responsibility for resources and ensuring they are returned to the appropriate store in good state
  • Attending weekly staff meetings
  • Attending Parents' Evenings
  • Attending events such as Concerts, Plays, Open Days etc. in the evenings or on a Saturday
  • Taking a share of lunch and break duties
  • Offering to run an after school club
  • Participating in training and professional development
  • Undertaking any other specific duties which may be reasonably assigned by the Headteacher
