Infant School Headteacher

Posted 03/02/2012

Leadership scale L12-18 Required for September 2012

The retirement of our hugely respected headteacher has created a superb opportunity for you to lead a vibrant, successful Infant School with an excellent reputation within its local community and across the borough of Stockport.

Our school is focused on excellence in Early Years/ Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. As headteacher you would be asked to build on our current high standards for both educating and nurturing our pupils, but with the freedom to establish your own identity and ethos within the school.

You would be working with a committed and highly professional staff, all dedicated to the education of 3-7 year olds, and supported by an enthusiastic Governing Body.

We are a successful and popular school - so popular, in fact, that we are expecting to expand to a three-form entry in September 2012. How successful? Our OFSTED report of November 2011 rated us as Good; can you help us improve still further?

The successful applicant will demonstrate

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an approachable and open style of leadership
  • The passion, vision and enthusiasm to motivate and inspire children, staff, governors, parents and the wider community in the context of a school focused on the 3-7-year-old age group .
  • Proven leadership and management skills, particularly in creating a cohesive and united staff while challenging and developing their skills
  • An ability to establish close ties with the community we serve and our partner Junior School, with whom we have a close collaborative relationship.

This is a rare opportunity to lead an established and successful Infant School and develop educational strategies in which EYFS and KS1 are the sole focus.
