Kings Priory School is a newly opened academy providing high quality education to 1200 pupils aged 4 - 19. The result of a merger between a thriving independent school and an outstanding community primary school, we are an inclusive, non-fee paying academy with excellent teachers, a family environment, motivated students and a commitment to educating the whole child - both in and outside of the classroom. We have a history of outstanding results: in 2013, 52% of grades at GCSE were A*-A and 80% of grades were A*-B. At A level, almost 60% of grades were A*- B, with a 100% pass rate. Results have been significantly above the national at the end of EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 for a number of years in the Primary School.

The School operates across neighbouring sites in the centre of the attractive coastal village of Tynemouth with short commuting links into Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Kings Priory School is part of Woodard Academies Trust multi-academy sponsor whose aim is to be a provider of world class education, transforming lives within and across communities. This provides highly valuable additional experiences that strongly promote pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development and greatly enhance their personal qualities and skills. Pupils’ behaviour, on both sites, is exemplary. They show high levels of respect for each other and adults. In lessons, most pupils demonstrate very positive attitudes to learning and this contributes to their good progress. Pupils feel safe and very well supported by adults in the academy. The academy’s work to keep pupils safe is outstanding.”
