Due to increasing student numbers and a Sixth Form opening in September 2014 the increasingly successful and popular The Bishop of Winchester Academy is looking to appoint a conscientious, enthusiastic and skilled KS2 primary school practitioner who has experience working with students with a wide range of special educational needs, to teach Maths to our lower ability Key Stage 3 transition classes. 

The successful candidate will want to make a difference and will be required to deliver Maths at the appropriate national curriculum levels to small, specialist classes.  There will be an added opportunity to support the Maths department in raising the attainment for a wide range of SEN/AEN students.  This will be a rewarding role and a great opportunity to join a growing and enthusiastic SEN/Inclusion team.
 
This will be an exciting time to join an Academy that is undergoing a significant building programme.  This will enable teachers to deliver consistently good and outstanding teaching and learning. The Academy is ambitious to be recognised as inspirational. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Be an outstanding teacher who is highly motivated, inspirational and innovative.
  • Have experience in teaching students with a wide range of SEN and additional needs.
  • Be able to inspire students to have high expectations.
  • Be a positive and supportive mentor to students.
  • Engage fully in the Enrichment Programme.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
